Client Update: Completing the Transformation

You may remember Lawson Little from our last newsletter. Lawson became an Interfaith rental tenant after his release from prison. Rental Property Manager, Clint Nelson, told Lawson about the Kansas Individual Development Account (IDA) Program. He completed the financial education course and began saving every month.

While he was saving, a house that was damaged in a fire was donated to us. When HRR Director, Jeff Thomson showed it to Lawson, he knew it was perfect for him. That winter the Conservative Anabaptist Service Program Volunteers, who work with Interfaith, completely renovated the two-bedroom house.

In July, Lawson closed on the house and moved in that same day.
We had the pleasure of painting Lawson’s house during United Way of Reno County Community Work Day in August. It was a wonderful way to commemorate his long personal journey as well as the work he has done with the whole Interfaith team over the last few years. His life has been transformed, and this year he will be celebrating the holidays in his very own home.

Your gift helps people like Lawson get a second chance at being a productive part of our community.
