IHS was awarded $500,000 in Individual Development Account Tax Credits by the Kansas Department of Commerce that will match any donor’s contribution dollar for dollar, doubling the amount we can use to help a family.
All tax credit contributions fund the Creating Assets, Savings & Hope (CASH) program, also known as the IDA program. CASH serves as an incentive for low-income individuals to save money by giving them the tools to help break the bonds of poverty. For more information on CASH, please click here.
Donors (individuals and businesses) receive a 75% refundable Kansas Tax Credit for every donation of $250 or more. This means that 75% of your donation is just like writing a check to the State of Kansas for your yearly income tax obligations.
For example: A donor making a $1,000 charitable donation to IHS will receive a $750 tax credit. This tax credit will be subtracted from the business's Kansas tax obligation, or $750 will be added to the income tax refund. In addition, the donor receives federal tax benefits that vary with the donor’s effective tax bracket and other individual factors.
Keep in mind, that the $1,000 donation will give us $2,000 to change the life of an individual or family through our CASH Program.
To receive a tax credit for your donation please fill out the application and mail, fax, or email with the contribution to our offices. Gifts can be made by Check, Credit Card, or Securities.
