USD 308 - 12th St. Project

As a new school year begins, so too does a new building project. Last year through a partnership with USD 308 Hutchinson Career & Technical Education Academy and the Hutchinson Community College, Interfaith Housing Services was able to develop a fully accessible duplex for two brothers and bring a dilapidated home back to life.
This year’s project is just as exciting and fulfilling as last years. IHS has worked diligently with the school to develop the plans for a three bedroom, two bathroom home. The house is to be developed on an empty lot on 12th St, which was made available after a fire destroyed the home that once stood there. Completion of the project is expected to be mid-May, at that time the home will be made available for purchase to individuals enrolled in IHS’s 2:1 savings incentive program, Creating Assets Savings Hope or CASH.
The goal of the 12th St. Project is to maintain and strength the partnership IHS has built with USD 308 and Hutchinson Community College, while at the same time fulfill our mission to assist low to moderate income to meet their housing needs.
Unlike last year’s projects that were funded through a grant received from Kansas Housing Resource Corporation, the 12th St. Project will be funded solely through donations to Interfaith Housing Services. If you would like to get involved in helping this project get completed or if you would like to receive additional information about the project please contact Interfaith Housing Services by email at ihs@ihs-housing.org or call 1.877.447.5927.
